tablet: 0.1 mg Infants and children:
Adrenal Insufficiency: 0.05-0.1 mg/dose PO once or twice daily (Daily dose 0.05-0.2 mg)
Congenital adrenal hyperplasia (salt losers): 0.05-0.1 mg/dose PO once or twice daily (Usual daily dose 0.05-0.2 mg/day; however, doses as high as 0.3 mg per day may be required) .

Adults:
0.05-0.2 mg/dose PO daily
Tablets may be crushed and placed in 1 tsp water or soft food (ex. yogurt, applesauce).

Titrate dose to maintain plasma renin activity at normal levels.

Monitor BP, serum electrolytes and glucose. Adjust dose if hypertension, hypernatremia or hypokalemia develop.

Has primarily mineralocorticoid activity.

Contraindicated in systemic fungal infections.

Use with caution in heart failure, hypertension, edema, diabetes, renal or liver dysfunction, GI disorders.
