Considered as additional or second line treatment Onset of action is 6-8 hours. Should not be used for longer than one week. Do not take concurrently with docusate. May impair absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, calcium and warfarin. May cause diarrhea, cramps, and lipid pneumonitis (via aspiration). If given orally, do not give at HS and use with caution in children < 5 years or with neurological deficits due to aspiration risk. Standard Prescription: mineral oil __ml PO__(frequency) |
