Creme rinse: 1%

Cream: 5%, (30 g tube)
Creme Rinse for Head Lice:
Infants > 2 months:
Shampoo, rinse and towel-dry hair, then apply sufficient permethrin to saturate hair and scalp.  Leave on hair for 10 minutes, then rinse with water, & towel dry.  May repeat in 7-10 days

Topical Cream for Scabies:
Infants >2 months:
Thoroughly massage cream into the skin from neck to soles of feet (also apply to face and scalp in addition to body for infants) and leave on overnight.  Remove by washing after 12-14 hr.  May repeat in 7 days

Manufacturer Dose Guide:
2-4 years old:  0.25 of a tube (7.5 g)
5-12 years old: 0.5 of a tube (15 g)
> 12 years old:  1 tube (max: 60 g per application)

Head Lice:  Avoid contact with eyes & try to minimize body exposure.  May cause itching or burning sensation on the scalp.  A single treatment can be sufficient to eliminate head lice.  If live lice are observed 7 days or more following initial treatment, a second application can be given.  If two applications 7 days apart do not eradicate live lice, administer a full treatment course using a medication from another class.

Scabies: Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, or broken skin.  Change into clean clothes after application.  Long sleeve shirts, pants and mittens should be worn by young children to avoid contact with mouth.



Standard Prescription:

permethrin creme rinse to saturate hair and scalp x 1 application (may repeat in 7 days)

permethrin cream apply __tube from head to soles of feet & wash off in __hrs (may repeat in 7 days)
