Mechanism of action:

Stimulant and osmotic laxative.

Last update: 2021-03-22		 Each sachet contains 16.1 grams of powder with the following ingredients:
Active ingredients:
Sodium picosulfate 10 mg
Magnesium oxide 3.5 grams
Citric acid 12 grams
Non-medicinal ingredients:
Orange flavour, potassium bicarbonate and saccharin

 1-5 years old: 1/4 sachet/dose
6-12 years old: 1/2 sachet /dose
>12 years old Adults:  1 sachet/dose

Take first dose in the evening (6 PM) the day prior to the procedure, followed by a second dose in the morning (8 AM) on the day of the procedure.

 A bowel cleansing preparation which contains a stimulant cathartic (sodium picosulfate) and an osmotic laxative (magnesium citrate formed from magnesium oxide and citric acid).

Dissolve contents of sachet in a cup of cold water and stir for 2-3 minutes. If it becomes hot, wait until it cools before administering.

For improved efficacy and to avoid dehydration, follow each dose with 250 mL of clear fluid per hour until bowel movements have ceased.  No fluid should be taken at least 2 hours prior to the procedure.

Onset of action: 3-4 hours.

Common side effects: Nausea, vomiting and headache.  Hypermagnesemia may occur with reduced renal function.
