Class II anti-arrhythmic and long-acting β blocker, relatively selective for β1 receptors

Tablet: 50 mg, 100 mg
Oral suspension (BCCH): 10 mg/mL, 2 mg/mL
Child/Adolescent:
0.5-1 mg/kg/dose PO daily, to maximum 2 mg/kg/day up to 100 mg/day.

Adult:
25 to 100 mg PO daily to maximum 200 mg/day
Class II anti-arrhythmic and long-acting β blocker, relatively selective for β1 receptors.

Adjust dose in renal failure.

Use caution in reactive airway disease (causes less bronchospasm than propranolol, except at higher doses)


Standard Prescription:

atenolol __ mg PO daily (__mg/kg/24hr)
