SIMETHICONE (Paeds) (Ovol, Gas-X) Mechanism of action: Antiflatulent. Ref: 44, 112, 444 Last update: 2019-08-26	drops: 40 mg/mL (Ovol)	Infants and Children <2 years: 20 mg PO QID PRN. Maximum: 240 mg/24 hr. Children 2-12 years: 40 mg PO QID PRN. Maximum: 240 mg/24 hr. Children >12 years and Adults: 40-360 mg PO after meals and QHS PRN. Maximum: 500 mg/24 hr.	Drops may be added to formula or given directly from dropper. Limited evidence for efficacy in infantile colic. Standard Prescription: simethicone __mg PO ___(frequency) PRN
