Non-dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker

injection: 2.5 mg/mL
Children > 1 year:
1-8 mg/kg/dose PO TID (may decrease dosing interval to QID if symptoms emerge at the end of each dosing interval) (4-17 mg/kg/24 hr)

Adults:
80 mg PO x 1 PRN for stable SVT or verapamil-sensitive VT

Calcium chloride should be available to treat hypotension.

Avoid use in infants due to severe apnea, severe sinus bradycardia, hypotension and cardiac arrest.

Contraindications: cardiogenic shock, AV Block, left ventricular failure, severe chronic heart failure, severe hypotension, sick sinus syndrome, Wolff-Parkinson-White Pattern.
