SOFRACORT (Paeds) Mechanism of action: Antibiotic/Corticosteroid combination Ref: 67 Last update: 2019-08-26	eye/ear drops: containing framycetin, gramicidin and 0.5% dexamethasone.	Ear: 2 to 3 drops in the ear canal TID to QID.	To avoid the possibility of reinfection, do not touch ear with dropper. Ciprofloxacin ear drops are preferred for otitis externa caused by pseudomonas sp. In cases where tympanic perforation (or tympanostomy tube) is seen or suspected, Sofracort ear drops should be avoided or used with extreme caution because of the risk of ototoxicity.
