Oral bio-availability = 99%. Avoid concomitant administration with antacids, sucralfate, ferrous sulfate, calcium supplements; space doses by 2-4 hours. Dosage adjustment required in renal impairment. Risk of cartilage damage found in animal models, but not shown in humans. Use treatment dosing for prophylaxis of bloodstream infections in select oncology patients.
