Children 6-12 months: 2.5 mg PO once daily. Children 1-5 years old: 2.5-5 mg PO once daily. 6-11 years old: 5-10 mg PO once daily 10 mg PO once daily |
Dose may be divided BID instead of once daily. Second generation H1-antihistamine derived from the metabolism of hydroxyzine. More sedation compared to loratadine. Onset of action: 20-60 minutes. May be administered 30 minutes before transfusions to prevent transfusion-related reactions. Standard Prescription: Cetirizine __ mg PO daily |
