Delayed release capsule: 15 mg, 30 mg
FasTab (oral dissolving tablet): 15 mg, 30 mg
Oral suspension (BCCH): 3 mg/mL in 8.4% NaHCO3
1 mg/kg/dose PO once daily (0.4-2.8 mg/kg/day)
OR
< 30 kg: 15 mg PO once daily (Max 30 mg/day)
> 30 kg: 15-30 mg PO once daily (Max 60 mg/day)

H. pylori eradication (as part of triple therapy regimen): 1 mg/kg/dose PO BID (Max: 30 mg PO BID)
Should be given just before or during meals.

Sprinkle contents of capsule onto soft foods or select juices.

For patients who cannot swallow tablets, the FasTab can be dispersed in about 10 mL of water and taken immediately, by mouth or through a feeding tube.

Infants younger than 6 months may have a lower per kg dose requirement.

BID dosing may be beneficial for those children who remain symptomatic.

Requires Special Authority from Pharmacare for out-patient prescriptions. (only GI physicians may prescribe without Special Authority).
