LIDOCAINE-EPINEPHRINE-TETRACAINE (Paeds) (LAT or LET) Mechanism of action: Topical anesthesia and vasoconstriction Ref: 219, 220, 221 Last update: 2022-04-04	Compounded (by BCCH pharmacy) gel for topical use. Lidocaine 4%, Adrenalin 1:2000, tetracaine 0.5% in 50 mL jars.	Apply 1-3 mL/dose to wound for 20-30 minutes prior to laceration repair.	For use in Emergency Department only. Refer to Guidelines for Lidocaine-AdrenalineTetracaine (LAT) in the Emergency Department for administration and monitoring. Caution with application to digits, penis, nose, ears and mucous membranes. Suggested maximum application time is 90 mins to avoid skin reaction. Duration of anesthesia is 45-60 mins following removal. Standard Prescription: Apply __ ml to wound 20-30 minutes prior to repair.
