BETAMETHASONE, TOPICAL (Paeds) (Betnovate, Ectosone) Mechanism of action: Topical corticosteroid. Ref: 44, 593, 594, 595, 596 Last update: 2022-06-08	cream:  0.05%, 0.1% (valerate) ointment:  0.05%, 0.1% (valerate) lotion:  0.05% (valerate) scalp lotion:  0.1 % (valerate)	Apply to affected area 1-2 times daily.  Reassess in 1-2 weeks for response.  If responding, continue treatment until resolution.	Mid potency corticosteroid (depending on concentration & vehicle). Incidence of local adverse effects with topical use is low with appropriate use.
