Injection: 200 IU/mL (2 mL multidose vial) | Hypercalcemia: Initial: 4 IU/kg/dose Q12H SC/IM. If response to this dosage is not satisfactory after 1-2 days, may increase to 8 IU/kg/dose Q12H. If necessary, dose may be increased to a maximum of 8 IU/kg/dose Q6H. |
Do not exceed 2 mL volume per injection site. Onset of action: 2-3 hr with nadir serum calcium concentration occurring within 12-24 hr. Skin testing with 1 IU may predict hypersensitivity reaction.
