CLINDAMYCIN (Paeds) (Dalacin-C) Mechanism of action: Lincosamide antibiotic Ref: 6, 44, 150 Last update: 2022-06-16	capsule: 150 mg, 300 mg injection: 150 mg/mL oral liquid: 15 mg/mL	Children: Mild to moderate infections: 5-10 mg/kg/dose PO/IV Q6-8H Severe infections, MRSA, Osteomyelitis: 10 mg/kg/dose PO/IV Q6H or 13 mg/kg/dose PO/IV Q8H Adults: 150-600 mg/dose PO Q6-8H. 150-900 mg IV Q6-8H. Max 2700 mg/24 hr	Bioavailabilty 90% Caution: pseudomembranous colitis may occur at anytime during or several weeks after discontinuing therapy Liquid is unpalatable Capsule should be taken with a full glass of water to decrease esophageal irritation.
