0.5-1.25 mg/kg/dose PO/IV/IM Q6H PRN
Maximum: 50 mg/dose; 300 mg/24 hr
Adjunct to epinephrine for anaphylaxis:
0.5-1.25 mg/kg/dose PO/IV/IM Q6H PRN
Maximum: 50 mg/dose; 300 mg/24 hr
Adults:
25-50 mg/dose PO/IV/IM Q6H PRN
Maximum: 100 mg/dose; 400 mg/24 hr
Adjunct to epinephrine for anaphylaxis:
1 mg/kg/dose IM/IV Q4-6H PRN for cutaneous manifestations.
Max: 50 mg/dose

Comments
Potentiates side effects of anticholinergics and other CNS depressants.
Adverse effects: sedation, drowsiness, dry mouth, blurred vision, gastrointestinal distress, rare paradoxical excitation.
Caution in patients with asthma or narrow-angle glaucoma.
Avoid subcutaneous or intradermal injections due to irritating effects.
