0-6 mos old: not recommended.
> 6 mos - 3 yrs old: 0.25 mg PO daily
3-6 yrs old: 0.5 mg PO daily
> 6 yrs old: 1 mg PO daily

Comments
These recommendations apply in regions where the fluoride concentration in the drinking water supply is < 0.3 ppm.
No fluoride has been added to MetroVancouver’s water supply. It naturally contains < 0.05 ppm.
Fluoride supplements are only required for high dental caries risk patients and may be unnecessary if the patient is receiving adequate fluoride from other sources.
Total daily fluoride intake from all sources should not exceed 0.05-0.07 mg F/kg body weight in order to minimize the risk of dental fluorosis.
Decisions regarding fluoride supplementation should be made on an individual basis.
