Dosages
Children > 2 years old: 0.5-1 mg/kg/dose PO/PR TID. Maximum: 200 mg/24 hr.
Adult: 25-50 mg/dose PO BID-TID. Maximum: 200 mg/24 hr.
Adult: 25-50 mg/dose PO BID-TID. Maximum: 200 mg/24 hr.

Mechanism of Action
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)

capsule: 25 mg, 50 mg
suppositories: 50 mg, 100 mg
injection: 1 mg/vial
Comments
May increase serum levels of digoxin, methotrexate and lithium. May decrease the antiplatelet effects of ASA.
Note: concomitant use of methotrexate and NSAID is a standard of care for treating JIA.
Up to 90% absorbed by rectal route.
Contraindicated in active bleeding, coagulation defects, necrotizing entercolitis, and renal insufficiency.
Fatal hepatitis has been reported in the treatment of JIA - monitor renal and hepatic function.
