paraldehyde __mL IV loading dose (__mL/kg/dose), then __mL/kg/hr IV infusion

Dosages
Seizure Rescue:
PR: 0.3-0.4 mL/kg/dose diluted 50:50 in mineral or olive oil ( = 0.6-0.8 mL/kg/dose of diluted solution). Max total volume of 10 mL diluted solution.
May repeat dose in 20 min. Mechanism of Action

Comments
Do not use outdated product, discoloured solutions or those with a strong vinegar-like smell.
Will dissolve plastic/rubber; may use polypropylene syringe only for immediate administration or use glass syringe.
