Dosages
Pinworms * or Roundworms:
11 mg/kg/dose pyrantel base PO x 1 dose (round dose to nearest 125 mg).
Hookworms:
Same dosage as above is given once daily for 3 days.
11 mg/kg/dose pyrantel base PO x 1 dose (round dose to nearest 125 mg).
Max. 1000 mg/dose pyrantel base.
Hookworms:
Same dosage as above is given once daily for 3 days.

Anthelmintic agent.

tablet: 125 mg
suspension: 50 mg/mL
Not stocked at BCCH due to low in-patient usage but can be obtained in 1 to 2 days if required.

Comments
It is recommended that all family members be treated.
* For pinworms, a second dose should be given 2 weeks later.
