Dosages
Pruritis:
Children:
Adults: 2.5 mg PO QID.
Pre-Operative Sedation:
Children: 2 to 4 mg/kg PO 90 min. pre-op.
Children:
- 6 Months to 3 years old: 1.25 mg PO at HS or 1.25 mg PO TID PRN.
- > 3 years old: 2.5 mg PO at HS or 2.5 PO TID PRN.
Adults: 2.5 mg PO QID.
Pre-Operative Sedation:
Children: 2 to 4 mg/kg PO 90 min. pre-op.
Mechanism of Action
Phenothiazine with antipruritic and antihistaminic properties with anticholinergic and sedative side effects

Tablet: 2.5 mg, 5 mg
Comments
- Extrapyramidal symptoms are common in children.
