Pediatric: 0.2 - 1 mg/kg/dose PO once daily
Adults: 75 mg PO once daily
Mechanism of Action
Platelet activation inhibitor. A prodrug activated in two steps to an active metabolite that irreversibly inhibits the P2Y12 subtype of the ADP receptor, which is important in activation of platelets and eventual cross-linking by the protein fibrin

children less than 2 years old may require lower end of the dosage range.
