Dextran 40 10% __ ml IV over __ mins (__ ml/kg)
Dosages
Pediatrics:
Infuse 1 g/kg/24 hour (Max: 2 g/kg/day for first 24 hours then 1 g/kg/day thereafter).
(1 g = 10 mL of 10% solution)
Infuse 1 g/kg/24 hour (Max: 2 g/kg/day for first 24 hours then 1 g/kg/day thereafter).

Mechanism of Action
Dextran is a complex branched glucan (polysaccharide) and provides an osmotically neutral fluid.
Forms Supplied
Injection: 10% Dextran 40 in D5W (500 mL bag)
