Standard Prescription

benzoyl perioxide__(gel/lotion/bar)__% apply to affected area__(frequency)

Dosages

Children >=7 years:

Gel: Apply sparingly to acne after skin cleansing daily. Gradually increase to BID if needed  as tolerated.

If excessive dryness or peeling occurs, reduce frequency of application or concentration.
If excessive stinging or burning occurs, remove with mild soap and water; resume use next day.

Face/body wash: Use on affected area(s) up to once daily in the shower. Leave on for 5 minutes before rinse

Comments

Avoid contact with abraded skin, mouth and eyes.

Used for mild comedomal and inflammatory acne.

Transient erythema, dryness, peeling and scaling are common at start of therapy.

May bleach or discolour hair or fabric.

Use sunscreen when going outside.
