Children >= 6 mo
Shake well and instill 4 drops into ear BID x 7 days
Mechanism of Action
Fluoroquinolone antibiotic with corticosteroid combination

Ear drops: ciprofloxacin 0.3% + dexamethasone 0.1% (7.5 mL bottle)
Comments
Unlike other available antibiotic ear drops, ciprofloxacin-dexamethasone carries no risk of ototoxicity and may be used safely in cases of tympanic perforation or tympanostomy tubes
For treatment of acute otitis externa (>1 yr)and acute otitis media with otorrhea in patients (>6 mo) with tympanostomy tubes due to S. aureus, S. pneumoniae, H. influenzae, M. catarrhalis, or P.aeruginosa
