alfacalcidol __mcg PO Q__H (__mcg/kg/24hr)
Dosages
Children:
0.01-0.05 mcg/kg/dose PO once daily.
Increase dose every 4 to 8 weeks based on clinical response.
Usual maintenance dose in children is 0.25-1 mcg once daily.
Usual adult maximum: 1-2 mcg once daily
Mechanism of Action
A synthetic Vitamin D metabolite which requires hepatic activation; does not require renal activation.

capsule: 0.25 mcg
oral drops: 2 mcg/mL (1 drop = 0.1 mcg). 10 mL bottle
