Comments

These doses are guidelines only.

Due to the erratic absorption of cyclosporine, and the increased clearance rate of cyclosporine in infants and young children, cyclosporine levels should be monitored regularly to ensure that a therapeutic range is maintained.

See References and Supplementary Materials for Therapeutic Drug Monitoring Table. (see page 378 in hard copies)

Many potential drug interactions; check CPS or consult a pharmacist

See References and Supplementary Materials for Cyclosporine Guidelines (see page 385 in hard copies).

Oral solution is supplied with just ONE oral syringe for measuring dose; please do not discard this syringe.  Any syringe can be used for measuring doses: use same syringe every day; don't wash it - wipe off after use; discard the very first dose drawn up with the syringe (to allow binding to become "saturated").

See the CPS for details on administering the oral liquid.

G-tube:  instill through extension in g-tube button; flush well with 10 mL water, apple or orange juice.
