Standard Prescription

G-CSF    mcg IV/SC Q__H (    mcg/kg/dose)

Dosages

Febrile Neutropenia Prophylaxis:
Adults and Children:  
5 mcg/kg/dose SC once daily; continue until ANC is adequate as per  protocol  

Peripheral stem cell mobilization:
10 mcg/kg/dose SC 4 hrs prior to apheresis

Injection: 300 mcg/mL, 1 mL vials

Comments

Endpoints of filgrastim therapy vary between different chemotherapy protocols.

Adverse effects may include bone pain, fever, and rash.

SC route preferred because of prolonged serum level compared with IV route.
